Portrait Commissions
Portraiture is a special love for me. I believe that humans have an inherent need to love and honor each other, so as the world becomes less and less sensitive to the human condition, portraits become more important as an art form. When I paint a portrait, I look for the essence of a person's spirit, their contribution to this time and place, and their importance to the people who love them. I am always honored to paint another human being.
Step One
Image Selection
Schedule a consultation.
We will select one of your images as the primary source for the portrait. If you don't have an image, I offer photography services for clients who live in the DC area.
I am also happy to paint from life if you live in the DC area and are willing to make time available to sit for the portrait.
Step Two
Place Your Order
I send you a contract.
Your order is placed when you return the signed contract and provide payment.
Full payment is due when you place your order; however, there is no risk to you since I provide a full, money-back guarantee if you do not like the finished product.
Step Three
The Magic Begins
As soon as I recieve your contract and payment, I place you into the production schedule.
It takes about eight weeks to complete a portrait from a photograph (portraits created from life take longer).
Step Four
Delivery
Your portrait ships as soon as it is dry enough to pack (the entire process usually takes about 8 weeks for portraits painted from photos).
Shipping and delivery costs and times vary based on where you are located. I ship from Ashburn, Virginia in the U.S.
